Are Bloggers Ignoring You?
Have you ever thought bloggers (including myself) are ignoring you?
I can promise you they most likely are not.
I'd also be willing to bet that you're a no-reply comment blogger. Today I'm going to show you how to fix that!
What exactly is a no-reply comment blogger? It's when you comment on someone's blog, but they can't respond because your email isn't linked to your blog account (this also happens if your Google+ account is linked to your blog).
I love receiving comments and try to respond to every one, but it makes me sad that about half of the comments come from no-reply comment bloggers. This happens to more people than you think, so take a few minutes right now to check if you're one.
Not sure if you are a no-reply comment blogger? Instead of asking me, you can test it yourself! Just comment on your own blog, and then check the email notification you receive about the comment. If the email address is "noreply-comment@blogger.com" -- then you're one, and you need to fix it ASAP!
(1) Log into your blogger account and go to the home page.
(2) Click on the drop box arrow beside your name on the top right (where the picture says "1"), then select "blogger profile" (where the picture says "2").
(3) Select "edit profile" near the top right of the page (where the picture says "3").
(4) Check "show my email address," which is the second checkbox from the top (where the picture says "4").
(5) Scroll to the very bottom of the page and hit "save profile!"
If you have your Google+ account connected to your blog, you have to unlink it before doing the steps above. To do this, go to your blogger dashboard and click on the settings wheel on the top right. The third option will say "Disconnect Google+"...click that and follow the prompts from there.
If you're a Wordpress user but you have a gmail address, you can fix this problem by signing into your gmail account when you post a comment. Or, just leave your email in the comment so we can reply.

This reminded me that I have an email from you that I need to reply to! I am the worst about replying to comments, oops! But this is a great post and something that I think everyone should see and post and repost again and again!
wow I was one of these people and didnt even know! thank you :)
Wow I didn't even know I thought my blog just sucked now I can see if it really does lol thank god for you! :)
I actually got told I was a no-reply comment blogger yesterday and was confused so thank you very much for this :) Happy Wednesday!
Glad you wrote this post! I was struggling with this problem without even realizing it just a few weeks ago!
So glad you posted this! It is so upsetting when you want to reply to someone's comment and they are no-reply! Especially when you go back to their blog and they don't have any contact information! So aggravating.
I think I fixed this as I do use a gmail account to comment even though I'm a wordpress blogger. I have a question, though. As a blogger, I often reply to comments on my blog versus through email. (There is a little box commenters can check saying that they'd like to be notified of replies). I like the other readers to see that I respond and what I have to say in response as well. Sometimes I would like to see the response of bloggers to the comments/questions on their blog and if they just reply via email to the person who commented, the other readers can't see this. Does anyone have any ideas regarding this. What is the best approach?
Thank you! This was really helpful! I was just wondering why mine Looked different than others. You are so sweet and your blog is adorable. New follower' :)
I have noticed that I visit, comment and don't always get comments back on MY blog. I mean a reply is nice, but a visit and comment back is so much better. I do stop visiting those blogs though, because I feel like there is no reciprocation. So I give it about three comments and then I skip over that blog. :( It's true that there may be a no reply problem. Some people don't like to comment if there is word verification either. That doesn't bother me so much.

I hate when people don't have their email setup. ;) xxoo
I had that problem until someone pointed out to me and now I dont have it anymore. But guess what? I dont get hardly any comments. still like 5 a day or less. so yea i feel like bloggers are ignoring me. esp since I have over 60 followers and I follow more bloggers than that. I comment every time I go to a page. Or try to

Haha I thought I HAD fixed this and kept reading some great posts on how to fix this and was shaking my head thinking "why aren't people doing this?" hehehe... {AND for the BIGS & littles blogging network!}
If you are a Google+ person you have to unsubscribe your profile so that you can no longer be a no-reply blogger.
Thanks for all of your help girly!!
Thanks for the great blogging tip! I switched over from Google + and also shared this post so others can know about it too.
I never get tired of seeing these posts! I was a no-reply comment blogger for a while before someone clued me in and a couple of times my settings have reverted without me knowing, so these posts are always awesome.
I never knew about this! As a brand new blogger (who also stumbled upon your little blog) I appreciate this advice. :) Thank you!

Seriously! Preach it! I hate no-reply emails-then I can't respond to the questions they ask or comments they leave!
Found your post through Carrie's Weekly Round-Up Post this week! :) She shared it in our Weekly Round-Up Linky!
I'm so glad I came across your blog. Especially this post! I didn't even realize this was a problem (still relatively new to this whole blogging things). So thank you! :)

Oh wow, didn't even know about this! I am just starting out on this whole blogging thing recently. I am mainly just blogging for my family and friends, since my husband just joined the Army. I want everyone to feel involved even from miles away. Thank you so much for all the little tips on here. Who knows, maybe I will become one of those Army wives that help all the newbies (: Thank you again.
I blog on blogspot.com-- when I comment on your page it has a click button that says click to email follow-up comments to my email address but I went to my page and tried to comment on my own blog and I wasn't able to do the steps that you list. So I'm not sure if you are able to reply to my comments or not? :(

Blurgh. I use WordPress, and apparently I don't have the option to change this. I've tried a dozen times. I think I have the option if I buy my own space and then install a particular plugin. It stinks because MOST people, it seems, use Blogger! If only I'd known... oh well. Soon enough I'll fork out the money to set up my own domain (or whatever it's called!) and then install said plugin. Thanks for the reminder. It's yet another reason I need to forge ahead with the purchase. :)
